Susan Eisenhower was on Bill Maher's show a few episodes back..and I missed this during the Bush/Cheney Circus Show, mentioning that she left the Republican Party and why. Perhaps it's best if you read her own statement at the time for yourself:
During her appearance on Bill Maher's REAL TIME she said something I found poignant. She said that the original version of the speech her father, Ike Eisenhower, made regarding .." ... beware of the military industrial complex.." that there was an original version of that speech, which Ike changed so as not to offend certain powerful people at the time...one word was omitted....it would have read, .."...the Congressional military industrial complex...
